Johan Zetterquist

Johan Zetterquist är född i Arvika och bor och verkar i Göteborg. Hans konst har visats i bland annat Göteborgs konsthall, i Berlin, München och New York. I serier med Proposals och Studies låter han idéerna om monument ställa saker och ting till rätta. Hyllas det som hyllas bör och ett monument åt varje tanke och företeelse som är värd det. Eller inte. Med hans egna ord:

Included in the Project Proposals for Public Art there is the celebratory series where one can find A Monument Celebrating the End of the Concept of Artificiality, A Monument Celebrating the End of Capitalism as We Known It, A Monument Celebrating the End of the Method of Gaining Power and Control through the Usage of an External Threat and also

A Monument Celebrating the Birth of an Absolute Truth.

The truth the alternative facts the post truth the convenient truth the truthiest truth of truthiness.

Don’t fear Rome, the truth lies coiled in Naples. Slippery, individual and bendable it slithers across the piazza. But as a distant rumble a new fragrance is approaching bringing with it happy tidings.. for now it’s time to blow the big horns in celebration of this humongous occasion for the human race: the birth of an Absolute Truth! After this nothing will ever be the same again!

The harsh reality has entered the chat and this game changer will forever change the game. It will undoubtedly be a hard pill to swallow but do rest ashore that in this new reality truth is not up for debate.
